Based on about 450 calls localized using Val's Orcasound hydrophone array, the mean source level of calls made by Southern Resident killer whales is 148 dB re 1 microPa @ 1m. This talk also documents call amplitude compensation in the presence of broadband background noise (from 96-117 dB re 1 uPa), including some interesting possible diurnal patterns.
