As you’re heading north you get the whale phone goes off.  “Whales at East Point!”  It says.  <a href="http://www.beamreach.org/wp-content/uploads/IMG_01421.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-2482" title="IMG_0142" src="http://www.beamreach.org/wp-content/uploads/IMG_01421-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a>You guessed right!  You spot the whales by the number of whale watching vessels surrounding them.  You’re able to spend a good <a href="http://www.beamreach.org/wp-content/uploads/IMG_9709.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-2481" title="IMG_9709" src="http://www.beamreach.org/wp-content/uploads/IMG_9709-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a>couple of hours with them and get some decent recordings.  There’s even a 15 minute period where the ambient boat noise is minimal and the calls are coming in super sharply.  At 5:00 you head to Prevost Harbor and set anchor for the night, satisfied with the good fortune you had to be able to hang with whales for the day.  THE END
