As soon as you get to boundary pass, “Thar she blows!”  Your hunch <a href="http://www.beamreach.org/wp-content/uploads/IMG_02351.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-2468" title="IMG_0235" src="http://www.beamreach.org/wp-content/uploads/IMG_02351-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a>was correct and the whales must have sped northward.  There they are!  They’re all around you.  Jumping, <a href="http://www.beamreach.org/wp-content/uploads/IMG_97221.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-2469" title="IMG_9722" src="http://www.beamreach.org/wp-content/uploads/IMG_97221-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a>playing, making calls.  Your recordings are crisp and clear because you are the first boat on scene.  At one point, the whales surround your boat and there’s nothing you can do to get away from them (whale watching guidelines are to stay &gt;100m away).  You shut off your engine and the next thing you know a baby whale is swimming right under your boat.
